Rainbows

Rainbows came to symbolise the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic. They filled the windows of our homes in an outpouring of gratitude for healthcare workers who commit to keeping us safe and well.

To capture that groundswell of support and place it at the heart of the hospital, children and adults from across the region were invited to submit their own rainbow drawings. More than 250 were sent in and these drawings have been digitally transformed into artworks which now sit in the stairwells of the Grange University Hospital — a lasting reminder of that pride, admiration and hope.

Thank you to all the artists who created and submitted a rainbow.

Daeth yr enfys i symboleiddio'r GIG yn ystod y pandemig Covid-19. Fe wnaethant lenwi ffenestri ein cartrefi mewn llifeiriant o ddiolch i weithwyr gofal iechyd sydd wedi ymrwymo i'n cadw ni'n ddiogel ac yn iach.

Er mwyn cofnodi'r don honno o gefnogaeth a'i rhoi wrth galon yr ysbyty, gwahoddwyd plant ac oedolion o bob rhan o'r rhanbarth i gyflwyno eu darluniau enfys eu hunain. Daeth mwy na 250 i law ac mae'r darluniau hyn wedi'u trawsnewid yn ddigidol yn weithiau celf sydd bellach ar risiau Ysbyty Athrofaol y Faenor - atgof parhaol o'r balchder, yr edmygedd a'r gobaith hwnnw.

Diolch i'r holl artistiaid a greodd ac a gyflwynodd enfys.

Every artist who created a rainbow was given a booklet collecting all the submissions. We received many wonderful comments from participants and teachers. Here are just two:

“Thank you so much for the booklet of rainbows, it arrived yesterday and it really is lovely. I have found my granddaughter’s rainbows that they sent in. The whole book is a lovely memory of the difficult lockdown that we have all endured. It made me smile and the quotes and thanks to the NHS is lovely. It is a job well done. Thank you to all involved.”

– Kathryn P, grandparent of participant

“Just wanted to say a huge thank you for our Grange rainbow booklets. The children were so pleased to see their work published.”

– Helen T, a teacher whose school took part.

Rhoddwyd llyfryn i bob artist a greodd enfys a oedd yn cynnwys casgliad o'r holl luniau. Cawsom lawer o sylwadau hyfryd gan gyfranogwyr ac athrawon. Dyma ddau ohonynt:

“Diolch o galon am y llyfryn enfys, fe gyrhaeddodd ddoe ac mae'n hyfryd. Rwyf wedi dod o hyd i luniau enfys fy wyresau. Mae'r llyfr cyfan yn atgof hyfryd o'r cyfnod clo anodd y mae pawb ohonom wedi gorfod ei ddioddef. Fe wnaeth i mi wenu ac mae'r dyfyniadau a'r negeseuon o ddiolch i'r gwasanaeth iechyd yn hyfryd. Mae'n werth chweil. Diolch i bawb a gyfrannodd ato.”

- Kathryn P, nain un o'r cyfranogwyr

“Dim ond gair i ddiolch o galon i chi am lyfrynnau enfys y Faenor. Roedd y plant yn falch iawn o weld eu gwaith wedi'i gyhoeddi.”

- Helen T, athrawes o ysgol a gymerodd ran yn y prosiect.
